The windy sky is fabulous but I love your restrained use of colour the best. It's just enough to keep it interesting but not too much that it overshadows your amazing line work. Have you been following Jacobson and Silvestri's HoHoDooDa posts? I can so see you doing that! Wish they had let everyone know about it, I might have given it a go myself. They've come up with some fantastic festive season sketches.
Belated holiday greetings, Laurie! I'm finally catching up on blog visits, and just love what you've been posting. This guy is especially wonderful...the texture looks like an old etching or woodcut. Here's to lots of wonderful drawing in 2012!
