This has a fabulous wood cut feel...those lines are beautifully thought-out...the vortex leading to that little figure that you can't help but feel sorry for.
brilliant! this looks fantastic! how long did it take?
Thanks Alex! Including initial doodles it took about 2 hours. I didn't want to plan it too much; I just wanted to think about the prompt and start making lines. The inked area is 6" x 8".
It so epitomizes the feeling. Excellent, Laurie!
Perfectly done. For someone whose work always has such a lighthearted feel, you've been able to capture loneliness so well. Really wonderful!
poor lonely thing. great illustration
Wonderful work. Love the swirling lines, they make it feel not just any lonely but lost in loneliness.
Really cool! And such a sad tiny creature in there. Lovely pattern, almost a fingerprint.
Aww... I hope he finds his way home soon. Lovely line work, I really like how your lines give the illusion of movement.
I wanted to comment on this earlier but I kept getting bogged up with work. I really dig this one. Defintely one of my favorites this week if not the favorite. I love drawings with simple creatures like this and the surounding lines really bring in the focus on 'im (or her). Great work.
